| I have never been so happy for another person in my life until today. Julie, My best friend and roomate from college called me today and told me that she got engaged last night! Mike proposed to her in hawaii last night in the most romantic way! he is the luckiest man in the world. I am so excited for them.
Im back from a long and very appreciated spring break. Arizona was fun as always. I had a couple of interviews for next year. things are still up in the air as far as that is concerned. The weather was perfect, Mike and I had so much fun. I met the whole extended family and they were all very kind. Im going back this weekend for Cassies shower, and then mike flys out the following weekend.

| This song is in honor of Jeriol. I met jeriol this past summer when we went to the dominican republic together with willowcreek. Jeriol added so much to our team and the experience could never have been the same without him. He had us laughing the whole trip. We sang this song together when we were painting danielle kings church. He was really good at singing songs from musicals. Jeriol loved to sing and whenever I hear this song, or eat skittles, I will remember the blessing that he was in my life. Jeriol committed suicide on Easter last week. Despite the deep pain he was going through, we all really wish he was still here with us. Please keep his family and friends in your prayers. | | |
| My students are hilarious. They make me laugh so much. I have done so much grading in the past week. I hate grading art. I wish i taught at a school where there were no grades. Ive heard there are schools like that. Im in the process of finding a new district to work in because my school doesnt have an opening for next year. but i knew that going into my job since it was only a semester job. I will really miss my students though. I have a couple interviews in AZ over spring break. I also have a couple here as well. I just got home from dinner with crystal and michelle, we had a great time. we accidentally kept the beeper that tells you when your table is ready. i hope they dont mind...
tomorrow im going shopping in the city with megan and to see her new place in chicago.... Im really looking forward to spring break. I leave in a few days!! I will be gone for 11 days and im VERY excited and then I go back the very next weekend!...Art is going well, still creating my portfolio...off to bed for me, goodnight! | | |
| This weekend I was so lazy! i slept a lot and talked to Mike on the phone for hours. Friday night i was supposed to go to an art gallery opening with some co workers and i completly slept through it. Saturday night i stayed in, and didnt answer my phone. I painted in my studio all night. Sarah is home for spring break. Last week i had a four day week, and the high school also has this friday and next friday off! I love my job! And on top of that i get 7 school days off for spring break! Im going to AZ for easter to be with Mike for 11 days!! Im counting down the days. I have the best boyfriend in the world. I've never been so happy or in love. God is too good! Long distance is really hard though. But it's completly worth it.
I have small group tonight and im really looking forward to it.

| Listening to a really pretty song right now called Lua by bright Eyes. Bright Eyes is still my fav. I just got back from Coronado Island. It was a beautiful weekend. Despite scattered showers, it was really beautiful. Mike's family is so warm and welcoming. I love the ocean, falling asleep to the sound of the waves is so peaceful. I really love California, especially San Diego. Though i dont think i could really live there because of the crowds and its so expensive, its probably my favorite place to visit in the U.S. Got to see some art galleries on saturday. I havent been painting the past couple of weeks because ive been so busy with school and travel, its something im not happy about. i feel like i am cheating myself again. Art is something that just seems to follow me wherever i go, and if im not creating something then i end up feeling boring or wasteful afterawhile and it haunts me until i get into my studio again. At least i have a job where i get to talk about it all day, and watch other people create it. I would loveto work for a gallery someday....
Life is so different now than it was a few months ago, i dont really understand how this all happened. You never know what is waiting around the corner I guess. but anyway... I better get back to work. my prep is almost over and I Have a classroom full of students i need to teach how to draw in about 15 minutes. | | |
